She also originated the role of “Stephanie” in The Job as a part of Saint John Theatre Company’s Theatre on the Edge Festival. Originally from New Brunswick, she is now based in Toronto, and joined the faculty of The S.P.A.C.E. in 2011.
In its second season, Sarah made it to the finals of So You Think You Can Dance Canada. Sarah has also been featured in West Side Story as “Graziella”, Lysistrata (“Calonice”), The Cripple of Inishmaan (“Helen”), The Crucible (“Mercy Lewis”), Fools (“Sophia”), and Perfect! (Nonie/Jenny). Sarah graduated from the University of New Brunswick with degrees in both Arts (English/French) and Education and was named a Dean’s Scholar of her graduating class.
As a choreographer, Sarah has the privilege of assisting Adam Cates (assistant to Tommy Tune and Kathleen Marshall), and was an associate choreographer for the National Tour of The Wizard of Oz, working with the munchkins. While living in New York City, she trained at a pre–professional program at Tisch School of the Arts, was an apprentice with American Theater Dance, and performed in A Broadway Revue at Rockefeller Center. Sarah has taught and choreographed for a variety of dance studios and schools throughout the Maritimes, and was also the president of UNB Dance. She choreographed a number of musicals, including The Music Man, The Sound of Music, Grease, High School Musical, and Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas.
Sarah is thrilled to be part of the Toronto arts community and can’t wait to see what happens next! We are also excited to have her teaching at The S.P.A.C.E. and know that her students will enjoy her infectious enthusiasm in class.
